Dateline – Jersey Shore – dog days of summer:

It’s been some time since we’ve posted – hope you are well and enjoying the summer. Have you had time to visit the shore and hear or play some music? We have a special treat on August 1 – Check out the “Songwriters by the Sea” series, brought to you by Joe Rapolla and featuring our good friend, Pat “the soul cat” Toner, performing some of his original tunes. Where have all the American Flags Gone?

Hope you all had a great musical July 4th! Why is it that there seems to be less “flying of the flag” on our national holidays? Just a personal observation – I live in a cul-de-sac of about 30 homes – why is there only one other house on my street flying the flag?

Songs of Summer -

When I was a kid, we went to sleep away camp – and one of our favorite songs to listen to and play was “Summertime Blues” – The Who version – from Live at Leeds – I had never heard the Eddie Cochran version until years later.  Just found a great version of it on You Tube, from Woodstock – check it out on our Vodpod on the right.
